A powerful explosion occurred in the city of Engels, Saratov Oblast, Russia, on the afternoon of June 11, frightening local residents. According to eyewitnesses, immediately after the explosion, a thick column of smoke appeared over the city, rising from the territory of one of the industrial facilities.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

This is reported by Russian media. <\/p>\n

Journalists claim that the explosion occurred at the 9th Central Automobile Repair Plant<\/strong>. This facility is located less than two kilometers from the Krystal Plant<\/strong> oil depot, which was recently attacked by Ukrainian drones. <\/p>\n

The published photos show thick smoke in the area of the industrial zone. <\/p>\n

Given the lack of official comments from local authorities or emergency services, the exact cause of the explosion is still unknown. However, journalists note that the incident may be related to recent attacks on infrastructure facilities in the region. <\/p>\n

There is also another version of events: some sources report that the explosion could have occurred at the pipeline fittings production enterprise “RusKon-S”<\/strong>, which is located five kilometers from the aforementioned oil depot. <\/p>\n

Both enterprises are in a zone of increased risk due to recent drone attacks and the aggravation of the situation in the rear of the Russian Federation. Of particular note is the fact that the “Krystal” burned for several days after the strike on June 6, which indicates the significant vulnerability of the Russian fuel infrastructure. <\/p>\n

It is currently unknown whether there are any victims, as well as what damage was caused to the enterprises. Local authorities are traditionally silent or downplaying the scale of the incident. <\/p>\n

By the way, on the night of Wednesday, June 11, drones attacked cities in the Russian Federation, in particular, a series of explosions were heard in Kotovsk<\/a>, Tambov Region. The Tambov Powder Plant, which is one of the main suppliers of explosives for the Russian army, was hit. <\/p>\n

Earlier, on the night of Tuesday, June 10, in Tatarstan, drones again attacked the city of Yelabuga<\/a>, where the production of drones, in particular the Shahed type, is located. <\/p>\n

As a reminder, on May 26, Russia suffered another massive drone attack, which resulted in damage to strategic industrial facilities and the operation of several airports being restricted. The largest incidents were recorded in the Tula and Ivanovo regions, as well as in Tatarstan.<\/a> <\/p>\n

As reported, Russian Yelabuga, home to one of the largest factories producing kamikaze drones, Shahed\/Geran, was again attacked by drones on April 23.<\/a> Local media reported at least five hits on the territory of the enterprise, which is located more than 1,700 km from Ukraine. <\/p>\n
