{"id":1240268,"date":"2025-06-11T18:37:01","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T15:37:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prm.ua\/in-ukraine-fines-for-drivers-will-be-significantly-increased-from-july-1-how-much-will-traffic-violators-have-to-pay\/"},"modified":"2025-06-11T18:37:01","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T15:37:01","slug":"in-ukraine-fines-for-drivers-will-be-significantly-increased-from-july-1-how-much-will-traffic-violators-have-to-pay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prm.ua\/en\/in-ukraine-fines-for-drivers-will-be-significantly-increased-from-july-1-how-much-will-traffic-violators-have-to-pay\/","title":{"rendered":"In Ukraine, fines for drivers will be significantly increased from July 1: how much will traffic violators have to pay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From July 1, 2025, updated rules of liability for traffic violations will come into force in Ukraine. <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>This was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/autotheme.info\/news\/268567-novi-shtrafi-dlya-vodiyiv-z-1-lipnya-za-shho-ukrayintsi-zaplatyat-vtrichi-bilshe.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Avtothema&#8221;<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>It is noted that the changes have been made to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, and they concern the most common types of violations &#8211; speeding, ignoring seat belts, improper parking and talking on the phone while driving. <\/p>\n<h3><strong>What&#8217;s changing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Speeding: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was: 340 UAH.<\/li>\n<li>It will be: 1020 UAH for speeding by 20+ km\/h and 1700 UAH for speeding by more than 50 km\/h.<\/li>\n<li>In case of systematic violations (three or more per year) &#8211; deprivation of rights for a period of up to 6 months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parking in unauthorized places: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was: 255 UAH.<\/li>\n<li>It will be: 850 UAH.<\/li>\n<li>If the car is towed &#8211; an additional 1200-1500 UAH for towing services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parking near bus stops, pedestrian crossings or on bike paths will be considered an aggravating circumstance &#8211; in in such cases, fines will be imposed quickly and without warning. <\/p>\n<p>Driving without a seat belt: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Was: 510 UAH.<\/li>\n<li>Now: 1530 UAH.<\/li>\n<li>For an unbelted child \u2014 a separate fine of 1700 UAH.<\/li>\n<li>The fine is imposed on the driver and the passenger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Using a phone while driving: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Was: 510 UAH.<\/li>\n<li>Now: 1190 UAH if the driver holds the phone in his hand or talks without a headset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Drunk driving: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The fine remains unchanged \u2014 17,000 UAH + 1-year license suspension.<\/li>\n<li>Repeated violation \u2014 34,000 UAH + confiscation auto.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Why are these changes important?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>According to official statistics, <strong>the number of road accidents in Ukraine has increased by 15% over the year<\/strong>. The most common reasons are speeding and failure to maintain a safe distance.
