Collaborator Valentin Rybin, who heads the Russian occupation administration on the left-bank Kherson region, was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the SBU.<\/p>\n

Before Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Rybin was a lawyer for Viktor Medvedchuk, a People’s Deputy from the banned OPZZH party, and propagandist and blogger Anatoly Shariy.<\/p>\n

He currently heads the so-called “organizational and legal department of the Ministry of Information Policy of the Kherson region of the Russian Federation,” which coordinates local propagandists.<\/p>\n

The SBU noted that after the start of full-scale Russian aggression, Rybin went abroad, where he called on Ukrainians to lay down their arms via social media.<\/p>\n

Later, the traitor returned to Ukraine, but to the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. There, he headed an occupation body to conduct information sabotage against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

After being appointed to this position, he joined the United Russia party, and on its behalf repeatedly called on local residents to support the Russian occupation.<\/p>\n

“Based on the evidence collected by investigators of the Security Service, Valentyn Rybin was found guilty under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – collaborative activity,” the SBU noted.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that pro-Russian blogger and politician Anatoly Shariy was officially sentenced to 15 years<\/a> in prison with confiscation of all property.<\/p>\n
