The fifth President of Ukraine and leader of the “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko, during the joint special program of “Pryamoy” and “Channel 5” “Let’s Talk About Ukraine”, stated that June should be a decisive time for our state’s diplomatic offensive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“June is crucial for Ukraine’s diplomatic offensive. June is crucial because there will be a meeting of the G7 on the 15th. On the 20th, there will be a NATO summit in The Hague. June is crucial because we need to get the appropriate resolution from Congress. And no one – neither Congress nor NATO – is doing anything,” the fifth President stated.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that Ukraine now risks not participating in the NATO summit for only the second time since 2014.<\/p>\n

“The first time was in 2019, when we demanded that the Ukrainian authorities go to the summit in London. And they refused. And now there is a risk that they will not be able to get us invited. The media reports that Ukraine was invited are not true. Because we were invited to dinner by His Majesty the King of the Netherlands. Sorry, participating in the dinner and participating in the NATO summit are different things. For me, the Ukraine-NATO Council should fundamentally take place,” the party leader noted.<\/p>\n

Poroshenko added that the second position is that the final resolution of the NATO summit should include a place for Ukraine with clear messages that the whole world should hear.<\/p>\n

“And this is the task for the Ukrainian authorities – in the two weeks remaining before the summit, to ensure that this happens. Or not to ensure it. This means that the diplomatic offensive will fail. And for me it will be a tragedy. Although I am the leader of the opposition, I do not applaud in any way, because in the external arena we must ensure unity. For me, this is a matter of life and death for our state. This is exactly how the question stands. Not about victory, not about territories, but about whether there will be a European, independent state or not,” he warns.<\/p>\n

The fifth president noted that at the moment we cannot “play with this, we cannot think only about PR.”<\/p>\n

“You can’t think about raising your own rating by 2-3%. You can’t think about anti-American hysteria within the country. Because whether you like it or not, there is no other United States in the world for you. And without the United States, there is no way to stop the war and fulfill the commitments made. Therefore, you must find real negotiators, real messages, and real motivation for the Americans,” Petro Poroshenko believes.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that a multi-party parliamentary delegation of Ukraine should be present in Washington, should be present in Brussels, and should ultimately be present in The Hague.<\/p>\n

Recall that on the sidelines of the Black Sea Security Forum in Odessa, Petro Poroshenko held numerous meetings with diplomats, former and current US congressmen and parliamentarians from many countries<\/a> . Earlier, NATO Secretary General Rutte reported that all 32 member countries of the Alliance have confirmed that Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance is irreversible<\/a> , although they have not determined the final timeframe for this process.
