President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine has reached a long-term agreement with Germany for the supply of advanced IRIS-T air defense missile systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the head of state, the agreement provides for the phased supply of air defense systems over three years<\/strong>, which will significantly strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.<\/p>\n

“This is a plan to supply IRIS-T systems for the next three years. This is crucial assistance, regardless of how long the war lasts. Ukraine, its land, and the peace of our people must be protected by modern air defense systems,” Zelenskyy emphasized.<\/p>\n

The President noted that he would not disclose all the details of the agreement but stressed that he has a clear vision for the project’s implementation schedule. As a result, Ukraine receives not only weapons but also predictability and strategic stability in the area of air defense.<\/p>\n

In addition to air defense, the focus of the negotiations also included financial and production support for Ukraine\u2019s defense sector. Zelenskyy stated that Germany will allocate approximately 7 billion euros for military assistance to Ukraine this year.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the parties agreed to invest in the joint production of long-range drones and missiles, both in Ukraine and Germany, within the framework of the Co-Production program. This not only involves the purchase of ready-made equipment but also the development of Ukrainian defense technologies and its military-industrial complex.<\/p>\n

“We are talking about our long-range capabilities: Ukrainian drones, our missile technologies. We are very grateful that the German side has agreed to increase funding in this specific area,” the President added.<\/p>\n

By the way, during a joint press conference of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Berlin, it was announced that a strategic agreement had been concluded in the field of the defense industry<\/a>. The leaders of the two countries made several statements regarding a radical change in the format of military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and Germany.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the media reported that the German government was considering funding a project to create Ukrainian cruise missiles<\/a> with a range of up to 2,500 kilometers.<\/p>\n

Recall, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that now long-range weapons for Ukraine have no range restrictions<\/a> . The same decision was made by Great Britain, France and the United States. Earlier, Friedrich Merz once again supported the supply of Taurus missiles<\/a> to Ukraine.<\/p>\n
