The scheme was organized by the deputy commander of the brigade. The commander of the material support group was also named as an accomplice.<\/p>\n<p> The State Bureau of Investigation indicates that for half their salary, servicemen could not report for duty. At the same time, some of them were periodically issued combat payments.<\/p>\n<p> Law enforcement officers identified seven suspects. Among them are three drivers and a repair shop employee who had not performed their duties for months. The amount of illegally paid bonuses to these four alone exceeded 5.3 million hryvnias.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;The investigation also has information about about 50 more servicemen who received bonuses for fictitious stay on the front line. These facts will be investigated separately,&#8221; the Bureau added.<\/p>\n<p> It is also known that the defendant tried to blackmail his subordinate and submitted documents stating that he allegedly left the military unit without permission with weapons.<\/p>\n<p> The organizer of the &#8220;scheme&#8221; was charged with new suspicions under the following articles of the Criminal Code:<\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li> Part 3 of Article 255 \u2014 creation of a criminal organization;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Part 5 of Article 191 &#8211; embezzlement of property on a particularly large scale;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Part 5 of Article 426-1 \u2014 abuse of power under martial law;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Part 1 of Article 366 \u2014 official forgery;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Part 4 of Article 409 &#8211; evasion of military service;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Part 4 of Article 410 \u2014 theft of firearms;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Part 2 of Article 146 &#8211; unlawful deprivation of liberty;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Part 2 of Article 129 \u2014 threat of murder.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p> During the searches, law enforcement officers found funds in various currencies on the suspect&#8217;s person.
