Ukraine has no interest in engaging in negotiations with the Russian Federation unless Moscow agrees to a full ceasefire, officials have stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, Radio Liberty reports.<\/p>\n

He noted that Ukraine is not interested in negotiations with the Russian Federation unless they involve a meaningful discussion on a ceasefire.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need negotiations where decisions are made and issues are resolved. The last round of talks in Istanbul was reduced to discussions about prisoner exchanges. That is why we are interested in a meeting at the presidential level \u2014 and we are ready for such a meeting. We will continue to monitor the situation. Our priority is to bring peace closer. The key objective now is achieving a ceasefire,\u201d the Foreign Minister said.<\/p>\n

Sybiga also emphasized that Ukraine has proven it is not an obstacle to peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cUkraine demonstrated its constructive approach by participating in high-level meetings in Istanbul. Unfortunately, we witnessed the complete inadequacy of the Russian side, which was reflected in the document they submitted. It was utterly unreasonable,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Sybiga noted that Russia has not changed its ultimatum rhetoric, still demanding Ukraine\u2019s surrender. That is why the world must unite to pressure Russia and compel peace.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that on June 2, the second round of negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations officially began in Istanbul,<\/a> mediated by Turkey.<\/p>\n
