In June 2025, as a result of massive Russian shelling, Kyiv and the Kyiv region suffered significant environmental losses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported<\/span><\/a> by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, on June 6 and 10, 1,902 tons of harmful substances entered the air of the capital region.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the department, environmental damages amount to more than 5.7 million hryvnias.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the ministry explained, the incidents were accompanied by unorganized emissions of substances that polluted the atmosphere, without filtration, in conditions of combat operations. In particular, mass burning of fuel, building materials, plastics, and equipment was recorded.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This is not just the destruction of infrastructure \u2014 it is the systematic destruction of the environment, air pollution, and the creation of long-term risks to the health of the capital’s residents,” the report says.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Svitlana Hrynchuk stated that the losses resulting from the war amount to almost 85 billion euros<\/a> .<\/p>\n
