Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russians offered to exchange kidnapped Ukrainian children for Russian prisoners of war.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said<\/span><\/a> this<\/span> during a press conference with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We are not exchanging them for anything, it is absolutely unfair. To be honest, it is madness,” Zelenskyy noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, Russia’s proposal is outside international law. He emphasized that the process of returning the children requires bilateral relations and the art of diplomacy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s why we are involving so many countries, so many necessary proactive people who, little by little \u2014 as much as they can \u2014 will return the thousands of children stolen by Russia,\u201d the president explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recall that during the second round of negotiations in Turkey , the Ukrainian delegation insisted on the return of deported children<\/a> , in particular, a list of several hundred people was transferred to Russia.<\/p>\n

By the way, the head of the Russian delegation, Volodymyr Medinsky, responded to Ukraine’s demand to return the kidnapped Ukrainian children<\/a> with a request “not to put on a show for European grandmothers.”<\/p>\n
