Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation have uncovered a scheme to evade actual military service involving a deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council. The official was thus trying to create a positive image for herself among voters and receive illegal payments from the state budget.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.<\/p>\n

It is noted that in 2023, the woman passed a military medical commission and was recognized as fit for service. The deputy was enrolled in a training center for basic training and was awarded the rank of “soldier”. However, instead of real training, she agreed with the deputy commander of one of the military units about fictitious service. With his assistance, the woman was only listed on the lists of military personnel, without actually performing any duties.<\/p>\n

To resolve the formalities with the documents, the deputy was brought to the unit several times by a personal driver, after which she spent her time at her own discretion.<\/p>\n

Later, her “service” was formally continued in the military unit of a friend of the deputy commander. There, she allegedly worked as an operator in a reconnaissance platoon of strike drones, a telephone operator, and in the headquarters communications group. All these transfers existed only on paper.<\/p>\n

During this period, the woman illegally received over 200 thousand hryvnias in service payments, which she spent on her own needs.<\/p>\n

The deputy was informed of suspicion of evasion of military service through deception committed by a group of persons in conspiracy, as well as fraud (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 4 of Article 409, Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n

The head of the training center was also suspected of aiding and abetting evasion of duty, and also of embezzlement of property through abuse of official position (Part 5 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 4 of Article 409, Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n

The issue of reporting suspicions to the deputy commander of the unit and choosing preventive measures in the form of detention for all those involved is currently being decided. All of them face up to 10 years in prison.<\/p>\n

We will remind, in the 110th brigade, combat bonuses were illegally awarded to soldiers who were not performing their duties<\/a> . The scheme was organized by the deputy commander of the brigade.<\/p>\n

As reported, a battalion commander was exposed in the Donetsk region, who organized a scheme to illegally charge increased payments and impose “tribute” on subordinates.<\/a><\/p>\n
