EU foreign policy chief Kaia Kallas has called for increased support for Ukraine, warning that otherwise Europe will have to learn Russian.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kaia Kallas’ statement is quoted<\/a> in The Guardian.<\/p>\n

She stated that Europe supports Ukraine in repelling Russian aggression, not least because it “is Europe’s first line of defense,” and the Russian Federation responds only to force.<\/p>\n

Kallas stressed that the 18th package of sanctions against Russia is very important because “each sanction weakens Russia’s ability to wage war.”<\/p>\n

The EU’s chief diplomat believes that Europe must do more for Ukraine’s and its own security.<\/p>\n

Kallas argued that in the event of weak support for Ukraine from Europe, all Europeans would have to learn Russian.<\/p>\n

“The stronger Ukraine is on the battlefield today, the stronger it will be at the negotiating table when Russia is finally ready to talk,” she said, quoting NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the European Union is preparing the 18th package of sanctions against Russia<\/a> , focused on reducing the Kremlin’s energy revenues and weakening the military-industrial complex of the aggressor state.<\/p>\n

By the way, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot expressed hope that the European Commission will present the 18th package of sanctions against Russia by the end of June.<\/a><\/p>\n
