The main task is to psychologically accept the new reality and live without waiting for a quick miracle.

He wrote about this in Telegram .

Kovalenko noted that despite the Ukrainians’ desire for peace, Russia has no intention of stopping the war. And as long as international pressure is not enough, the enemy will continue to fight. This means that Ukraine may remain in a state of armed confrontation of varying intensity for a long time.

“Russia plans to continue fighting. And we need to accept that the country will live in war for several more years. This must be realized not only at the level of politicians, but also at the level of every citizen,” he emphasized.

Although Kovalenko noted that Ukrainians and Israelis are very different in historical and cultural experience, certain conclusions from the Israeli example may be useful.

“We need to do what Israel went through in the 70s – accept life surrounded by enemies. There, society has psychologically assimilated this and learned to build a country despite the constant threat. We are bigger. But we are also capable of doing it,” the head of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Israel is convinced.

According to him, Israel has managed to create a “shell of peace” within the country — economy, infrastructure, medicine, culture — despite constant shelling and conflicts. Ukraine can and should also move in this direction.

Kovalenko emphasized that citizens have only two options – either to constantly wait for a miracle, which will lead to disappointment, or to accept reality, fight on, and continue building their own lives.

“We need to hit the enemy hard — wherever we can. If the enemy feels the pressure, the war can be stopped. But while Russia is ruled by the “collective Lubyanka,” which sees no end to the war, we need to prepare for a long confrontation,” he said.

He also expressed confidence that no authoritarian regime lasts forever. This was the case with the USSR, when old general secretaries died one after another in the 1980s, and with the Ayatollah regime in Iran, whose fate also depends on external and internal pressure.

Recall that the World Bank updated its macroeconomic forecast for Ukraine, taking into account the possible development of a full-scale war . According to the baseline scenario, if the Russian invasion continues until the end of 2025, then in 2026 the Ukrainian economy will grow by 5.2%. In 2025, moderate growth is expected – at the level of 2%.

Earlier, the Minister of Social Policy (2016-2019) Andriy Reva said on the air of “Pryamoy” that Russia is running out of resources for waging an aggressive war against Ukraine , in particular human and financial, so all the Kremlin’s statements about its readiness to “fight forever” are a simple lie, and Russian industry does not cover the needs of the occupation army in armored vehicles and artillery systems.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said that Ukrainian society must prepare for life in a war that could last for years.
