After US President Donald Trump’s statement about a conversation with Vladimir Putin that allegedly took place “yesterday”, the Kremlin began to make excuses. The Russian dictator’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the head of the White House allegedly meant not a specific date, but “the last few days.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Political life is so eventful now that when you say ‘yesterday,’ you mean a retrospective of the last three or four days at least,” Peskov said.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, during a briefing on June 18, Donald Trump said that he had spoken to Putin the day before, who had offered his participation as a mediator in the conflict in the Middle East. In response, the American president advised the Russian dictator to first “deal with Russia.”<\/p>\n

It is worth adding that on June 14, Donald Trump confirmed that Putin had called him to congratulate him on his birthday and raised the topic of Iran. The idea of mediation in the Middle East conflict was also raised at that time. Trump said that he was “open” to such an idea, but planned a new conversation – this time about Russia’s war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that during a recent conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he advised him to “take care of his own country first”<\/a> before claiming the role of mediator in other conflicts, in particular in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
