The price of natural gas and gasoline in Ukraine has increased sharply. Gas is being sold on the market at the highest price tag since November 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> in ExPro.<\/p>\n

Gas price hike<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Before the price increase, gas was traded in the range of UAH 31,200 to UAH 31,900 per 1,000 cubic meters including VAT, and later – for UAH 32,000 and more.<\/p>\n

Without VAT, the cost of gas was up to $640 per 1,000 cubic meters or up to \u20ac52 per megawatt-hour.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that these are prices on the Ukrainian market, which are not used for the population, heat and electricity producers.<\/p>\n

Gas prices in Ukraine began to rise in May 2025. Since then, prices have increased by 60%, and since the beginning of June, by 26%.<\/p>\n

One of the reasons for the price increase was the increase in prices at European hubs, which on Wednesday exceeded 40 euros per megawatt-hour for the first time since the beginning of April 2025.<\/p>\n

In addition, the volume of gas supply on the Ukrainian market has been reduced after the Cabinet of Ministers obliged Ukrnafta to sell gas to Naftogaz at a fixed price of UAH 12,000 per 1,000 cubic meters.<\/p>\n

Gasoline prices in Ukraine<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

According to<\/a> Volodymyr Omelchenko, director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center, gasoline prices will increase due to threats to the global oil market related to instability in the Strait of Hormuz region.<\/p>\n

Instability on the global market is already affecting retail fuel prices in Ukraine, but so far with a delay.<\/p>\n

Omelchenko drew attention to the fact that some gas station chains have already begun to raise prices in an attempt to gain additional profits.<\/p>\n

“Inertia has not yet fully reached Ukrainian petroleum products, but under the pretext of increasing quotations, some operators are already starting to raise prices. It is very important here how the Antimonopoly Committee will work,” Omelchenko explained.<\/p>\n

He believes that if the control bodies do not work effectively, gasoline prices will rise to 65 hryvnias per liter.<\/p>\n

Earlier it became known that Ukraine will begin regular imports of American liquefied gas from June<\/a> .<\/p>\n
