An explosion occurred at SpaceX’s launch pad in Texas during preparations for the next phase of testing of the Starship spacecraft. The incident occurred on the evening of June 18, as engineers were preparing Starship-36 for a static fire test \u2014 a prerequisite for the rocket’s tenth flight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to NASASpaceflight<\/a> , which broadcast live from the Starbase site, the explosion occurred half an hour after the start of fueling, before the main test was launched. Two hours after the explosion, the site was still burning, and fire services arrived at the facility.<\/p>\n

SpaceX confirmed<\/a> a “serious anomaly” and assured that all employees were in a safe area during the incident.<\/p>\n

“The Starbase team, together with local authorities, is working to stabilize the situation. Residents of the surrounding areas are not in danger,” the official statement said.<\/p>\n

It is worth adding that this is not the first failure in the Starship program: similar incidents occurred during the seventh, eighth and ninth test launches. Although SpaceX positions these explosions as part of the “learning process”, the series of accidents raises concerns among observers about the pace and safety of the program. <\/p>\n
