Petro Poroshenko is mentioned more in negative comments, manipulations and black PR publications in anonymous Telegram channels due to statements by pseudo-experts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated in the study<\/a> by the Institute of Mass Information “Experts Say”. Who and what comments in Telegram channels.<\/p>\n

“Petro Poroshenko became the leader in the number of negative mentions and scandalous topics. This is not the first time for him; IMI analysts have previously recorded that he is hated more often than other Ukrainian politicians,” the study notes.<\/p>\n

“In particular, commentators such as Petro Oleshchuk, Valentin Gladkikh, and Sergey Ivanov, who were promoted as experts in Telegram channels, were actively involved in creating a negative image of Poroshenko during the monitoring period. They worked to create a negative image of Poroshenko last year,” the IMI notes.<\/p>\n

“In addition, abstract experts were also involved in the black PR against Poroshenko with a link to their comments in the media. At the same time, the link led to a site like “Law and Business”, which posts many materials with evaluative judgments, negative or complimentary,” the study says.<\/p>\n

“The names of the ‘experts’ were not provided in the messages themselves or in the subsequent material distributed to the media. There is also no information about their experience or qualifications. This is another example of how black political strategists use anonymity and fictitious experts to create the illusion of public significance.” IMI.<\/p>\n

“The dirty campaign against Petro Poroshenko also involved manipulation of sociological research data, citations from abstract “experts” and links to sources with referral tags. This allowed the administrators of Telegram channels to track which links readers followed and how many times, i.e.<\/p>\n

In addition, pseudo-experts are also used in dirty campaigns against anti-corruption structures and activists.<\/p>\n

“Discrediting campaigns were also carried out on order against anti-corruption structures and individuals associated with them. With the help of abstract “expertise” or quotes from political strategists presented as experts, the activities of the VAKS, NABU and SAP were discredited. Pseudo-experts promoted narratives about the need to close anti-corruption agencies, that corrupt officials with large fortunes, undeclared property or problems with the law work in these institutions,” the IMI notes.<\/p>\n

During the monitoring period from June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025 inclusive, 223,241 messages were collected. During this period, 1,409 messages contained the word “expert”. The monitoring included anonymous Telegram channels with millions of subscribers, included in the Ukrainian segment: “Truha\u26a1\ufe0fUkraine”, “Times of Ukraine”, “Insider UA”, “Real War”, “Real Kyiv”, “Ukraine Now”, “Ukraine Online”, “All-Seeing OKO”, “All-Seeing OKO”.<\/p>\n

The day before, Petro Poroshenko’s lawyer Ilya Novikov, in a commentary after the end of the court hearing, said that the court supported the position of Poroshenko’s defense, that society should see the process of considering the claim to cancel illegal sanctions.<\/a><\/p>\n

Let us recall that during the Supreme Court hearing on the Petro Poroshenko case, the judge asked why the representatives of the president and the government did not provide the documents on the basis of which sanctions were imposed against the fifth president.<\/a> The government representatives found it difficult to answer this, shifting responsibility to other bodies, which caused the judge’s indignation.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko, before the start of the Supreme Court hearing, said that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decree on the introduction of sanctions should be cancelled<\/a> , since the president’s representatives have not been able to provide any documents on the grounds for such sanctions for five months.<\/p>\n

Later, during the meeting, Petro Poroshenko noted that closing the court hearing on the illegality of sanctions from the public means turning Ukraine into Russia.<\/a><\/p>\n
