US President Donald Trump and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan tried to secretly organize negotiations between the US and Iran on a nuclear deal, but their efforts proved futile.<\/b><\/p>\n
This<\/span> was reported by<\/span><\/a> the Axios publication.<\/span><\/p>\n As noted, at the G7 summit in Canada, Trump received a phone call from Erdogan, during which the Turkish president proposed holding a meeting between Iranians and Americans in Istanbul.<\/span><\/p>\n At the same time, as the publication’s interlocutor reported, a few hours before the conversation with Erdogan, the American president received signals from the Iranians about their desire to meet.<\/span><\/p>\n According to sources, Trump agreed to the Turkish president’s proposal and expressed his willingness to send US Vice President Vance and Special Envoy for the Middle East Witkoff to Istanbul.
