He has paid too high a price for reporting the truth about what was happening in Russian-occupied Crimea,\u201d said Steven Kapus, President and Director General of Radio Free Europe\/Radio Liberty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to him, during his illegal detention, the Russians physically and psychologically tortured Yesypenko.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe thank the governments of the United States and Ukraine for their efforts that helped secure Vladyslav\u2019s release. We also express our gratitude to the international community for supporting our journalists,\u201d the media director general added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> As a reminder, in 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/sud-okupantiv-v-krymu-pred-iavyv-obvynuvachennia-nezakonno-zatrymanomu-zhurnalistu-yesypenku\/\">the Russian occupiers in Crimea indicted the illegally detained Ukrainian journalist Vladislav Yesipenko<\/a> .
