The fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, stated on the air of the “Politclub” program with Vitaliy Portnikov that the program of fortifications, redirection of personal income tax to military units, and transfer of the economy to military rails will make it possible to strengthen our defense.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the press service of “European Solidarity”<\/a> .<\/p>\n

“The first initiative is fortifications. Now everyone is talking about fortifications: how come they weren’t built in Sumy? How come we ended up without them in the Pokrovsk direction? 2023, I’m coming with equipment purchased at my own expense, with the demand that you start construction specifically in Pokrovsk and specifically in Sumy. And the brigades started building it with my equipment in 2023. We wasted a year and a half and because of this we are losing people, losing territories, and losing time,” Poroshenko noted.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that for a year and a half now, he has been demanding that personal income tax funds paid by servicemen be transferred directly to the brigades.<\/p>\n

“Today they were surprised to see – you know, we have hundreds of billions of hryvnias allocated from the budget, not used, weapons not purchased. They are listed in accounts receivable. Why wouldn’t this money, at least some of it, be given to soldiers, brigade commanders? They would buy everything for themselves in a week,” he said.<\/p>\n

Poroshenko asked how it is possible to demand sanctions from NATO partners when Ukraine transits 300,000 barrels of Russian oil per day through the Druzhba oil pipeline.<\/p>\n

“After the start of the Israeli-Iranian war, oil prices rose. They were $60, now they are $74-75 per barrel. So, at these prices, Russia will receive not $6.5 billion, but $8.2 billion per year to finance its defense industry. What can justify such inaction on the part of the Ukrainian authorities?” Poroshenko noted.<\/p>\n

The leader of Eurosolidarity called for the adoption of the statement and the sending of a parliamentary delegation to Congress.<\/p>\n

“Johnson does not accept Yermak. I had an invitation from both J.D. Vance and Johnson. Don’t you trust Poroshenko? Give me a representative of the embassy, a representative of intelligence. Make sure that we fight for American parliamentary support on a broad front. But they even refused to accept a statement – an appeal to Congress,” he said.<\/p>\n

Poroshenko also called for the adoption of a program of fortifications, the adoption of a statement, changes to the legislation on personal income tax, and the transfer of the economy to military rails.<\/p>\n

“Now we have a question about allocating another 500 billion hryvnias by the end of the year, because the government and the Office of the President have only allocated money for half a year. Do you think that spending on cashbacks, on “wool thousands”, will allow us to protect Ukrainian land in another way? We are in a crisis, and we need to take real steps,” he concluded.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko stated that Ukraine must learn lessons from the situation in the Middle East<\/a> , because the Iranian model of behavior in negotiations was copied from Russia.<\/p>\n
