The authorities staged a show with sanctions to eliminate a political opponent and raise Zelensky’s rating. Petro Poroshenko said this on the air of the “Politclub” program with Vitaly Portnikov on the “Espresso” TV channel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We must understand that the sanctions cases, the treason case, the Minsk agreements case, the coal case, and everything else is a show. A show made with two goals. The first goal is to eliminate competition or a political opponent. The second goal is raiding. The authorities expected that the people would applaud and Zelensky’s rating would grow. Today, the situation has turned out exactly the opposite, and they were confused,” Poroshenko noted.<\/p>\n

“They could not imagine that in order to introduce illegal, unconstitutional, extrajudicial sanctions, which are directly prohibited by law against citizens of Ukraine who are in the controlled territory, a reason is needed. Now they are taking very strange steps, saying that there should be no reasons for sanctions, sanctions are preventive in nature, so that something is not committed in the future,” he noted.<\/p>\n

“They have been delaying the demand to provide society and the court with at least some reasons for the fifth month… The government says: we cannot give a piece of paper to the Supreme Court, because it has the status of a DSK (for official use). This is the Supreme Court of the country, it is not subordinate to you,” Poroshenko noted.<\/p>\n

“They have no chance now, when all deadlines have expired. The only thing that really worries me is that we have been considering an absolutely obvious case for the fifth month, where there is no evidence,” he added.<\/p>\n

The Fifth President recalled that the law obliges the subject of power to provide comprehensive and convincing reasons for certain actions within a clearly defined period of 15 days. But all this time, representatives of the government and the president have been asking for additional time to provide at least some documents.<\/p>\n

“Do you know how much it took them to prepare this nonsense? Three hours for five instances – to prepare financial monitoring, to hold a meeting of the Ministry of Economy, to hold two government meetings, to hold a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, and to issue a decree in the President’s Office. And then they rewrote it for almost another week. In five months, they still failed to prepare any explanation,” Poroshenko noted.<\/p>\n

“The government and the president proposed to keep the trial secret. In Putin’s style. Shame on the government, shame on those in the president’s team who pushed him to do this. Today we know for sure that the president was either misled or some kind of nonsense was made up. Because there is a phrase from the president that money was taken abroad, that thanks to the money collected from people, some party structures were helped. In more than twenty years of its existence, the Poroshenko Foundation has not attracted a single penny from anyone, it is only the private money of our family. 7 billion hryvnias were allocated for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, not a single penny was taken abroad,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n

“The president should be interested in the hundreds of billions that did not go to the purchase of weapons. The president should be interested in the failure to transfer the economy to military rails. The president should be interested in corruption in parliament, when more than 40 people’s deputies, more than 15% of the “Servants of the People” are involved in corruption deals. The president should be interested in the fact that at least six ministers and heads of central executive bodies are suspected of committing a crime. Of course, they should be removed in order not to influence the investigation,” Poroshenko said.<\/p>\n
