The National Bank of Ukraine set a new historic high for the euro at 48.5084 UAH per euro, effective Wednesday, June 25, marking an unprecedented exchange rate in the country\u2019s financial history.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is noted that this is the first time the euro has officially crossed the psychological mark of 48.5 hryvnias. Compared to the previous day, the euro rose by nearly 50 kopecks, reflecting a significant increase amid global currency fluctuations. This marks the second record high in the past two days, with the previous peak recorded on June 23 at 48.2006 UAH\/\u20ac.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, at the same time, the hryvnia unexpectedly strengthened against the US dollar<\/strong>. The official exchange rate on June 25 stands at 41.7924 UAH\/$, which is 8 kopecks lower than the previous day. However, this change is modest compared to the significant strengthening of the euro on international markets.

Analysts attribute the situation to the euro\u2019s strengthening against the dollar in global markets. This caused an automatic rise in its value on the Ukrainian foreign exchange market, despite the hryvnia\u2019s positive performance.<\/p>\n

Financial experts caution that if the euro\u2019s upward trend persists, it could drive up import costs and, consequently, fuel inflation in Ukraine.
\nRecall that on June 12, the National Bank of Ukraine lowered the dollar exchange rate to the hryvnia, and the euro rose by more than 60 kopecks and renewed its historical maximum.<\/a><\/p>\n

Earlier, the National Bank recorded the highest monthly inflation in 2025.<\/a> In May, inflation increased to almost 16 percent.<\/p>\n
