A high-profile attack on a soldier of the special forces assault brigade “Azov” took place in the very center of Ivano-Frankivsk. Two men, armed with a telescopic baton and tear gas, injured the soldier, after which they fled the scene.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the specialized prosecutor’s office of the western region.<\/p>\n

It is noted that law enforcement officers quickly identified the attackers: they turned out to be servicemen of one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on June 13, 2025 in the courtyard of one of the residential buildings in Ivano-Frankivsk. According to the investigation, two suspects attacked a local resident, a soldier of the Azov combat brigade, who was participating in combat operations at the front.<\/p>\n

During the attack, they used a chemical substance, spraying it in the victim’s face, and then inflicted numerous blows with an object resembling a telescopic stick. As a result, the fighter received chemical burns to his eyes and bruises of varying severity.<\/p>\n

After the attack, the attackers fled, but the police and the Security Service of Ukraine managed to establish their identities and location in a short time.<\/p>\n

What is most shocking is that the attackers turned out to be active-duty military personnel. According to the Ivano-Frankivsk Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense of the Western Region, both suspects are servicemen from another unit.<\/p>\n

They have now been officially notified of suspicion of hooliganism committed by a group of individuals in advance of a conspiracy using weapons or means prepared in advance to cause harm.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor’s office has already filed a petition with the court to impose preventive measures. In addition, other circumstances of the incident are being established.<\/p>\n

Operational support in the case is provided by the Main Police Department and the Internal Affairs Bureau of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. If found guilty, the attackers face up to 7 years in prison.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported thatan attempt was made to blow up a soldier from Azov during a “meeting” in Kyiv<\/a> . The explosive was hidden in a moped.<\/p>\n
