American strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure changed China’s plans for Taiwan and its view of the United States.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is noted that the US strikes on Iran have forced advisors to Chinese President Xi Jinping to reconsider their assessments of how Trump will act on issues affecting China’s national interests.<\/p>\n

“They thought Trump would be more ready to make deals, perhaps more pragmatic, and therefore more stable. In fact, everything turns out to be completely different,” said Andrea Ghiselli, a China expert at the University of Exeter.<\/p>\n

After the unexpected US strikes on Iran, Beijing will now rethink its prediction of Trump’s behavior, as he is no longer pursuing a more isolationist policy. This makes it impossible to predict whether he will resort to military intervention if China uses force against Taiwan.<\/p>\n

According to Financial Times sources, Trump’s order for airstrikes on Iran runs counter to Beijing’s notion that the president’s threats “cannot be taken seriously.”<\/p>\n

“Now the idea that he would flinch in a crisis situation has been refuted; this has to some extent strengthened the deterrence factor towards China,” the expert emphasized.<\/p>\n

In addition, Beijing’s view that Trump would pursue a restrained foreign policy and not intervene in crises has now been refuted.<\/p>\n
