The explosion heard by residents of Dnipro on Saturday, June 28, was the result of the work of Ukrainian air defense. The defenders shot down a modern Russian bomb-rocket of the “Thunder-1” type.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Serhiy Lysak.<\/p>\n

“I thank the defenders of the sky for shooting down the latest Grom-1 missile bomb,” his message reads.<\/p>\n

The Air Force noted<\/a> that at around 11:30 a.m., an aerial target launched from a Russian tactical aircraft was detected from the airspace of the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.<\/p>\n

“The target flew over 100 km and was shot down by air defense outside the city of Dnipro,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the larger the warhead of a KAB, the shorter its range. Therefore, it is likely that a lighter version of the bomb was directed towards the city.<\/p>\n

As is known, on Tuesday, June 24, Russia launched a missile attack on Ukraine, directing ballistic missiles at the Dnieper River.<\/a> 15 people are known to have died and over 200 were injured.<\/p>\n
