The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has begun work on a draft law on holding elections after the end of the war.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk said<\/span><\/a> this during a telethon<\/span> , Ukrinform reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We are working on this draft law, because for the next elections, a new special draft law is needed that will regulate the so-called post-war elections,” Stefanchuk noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

He assured that Ukraine will face many challenges after the war ends, and their nature will largely depend on when it ends.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, the Verkhovna Rada is currently preparing various scenarios so that the population can exercise its right to choose.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd this should be in Ukraine. And it seems to me that we will be able to find this correct legislative compromise,\u201d the speaker of the parliament noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is likely preparing to hold elections<\/a> , despite his previous opposition to it.<\/p>\n

The President’s Office later denied information that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had convened a meeting<\/a> to instruct his team to organize elections after a complete ceasefire.<\/p>\n

By the way, Ruslan Stefanchuk stated that holding elections during martial law is impossible<\/a> , and those that will be held after it ends do not fall under any of the qualifications provided for in the Constitution.<\/p>\n
