The head of the parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Getmantsev, spoke in favor of increasing the minimum pension in Ukraine to 4 thousand hryvnia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Getmantsev, the average pension should be no less than 40% of the average salary. At the same time, in Ukraine this figure is currently only about 27%, while in EU countries it averages 58%. For example, in Poland it is 57%, in Romania – 48%, in Greece – 78%.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“We must review the approaches to calculating and indexing pensions. Working people must receive decent and fair payments that correspond to their labor contribution. The first step for this is to increase the minimum pension to at least 4 thousand hryvnia,” said Getmantsev.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He also noted that over the past 10 years, the level of salary replacement by pensions in Ukraine has been declining, and because of the war, pensions will definitely not remain stable without changes in approaches.<\/p>\n

Getmantsev called on the government and the Verkhovna Rada to systematically address the pension issue, in particular, to de-shadow salaries, abolish special pensions for \u201cselect castes\u201d of civil servants, and introduce a mandatory funded level of the pension system.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Currently, the minimum pension in Ukraine is 2361 hryvnia.<\/p>\n

By the way, the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovych stated that the announced pension reform in Ukraine provides for a mandatory deduction of 9% from salaries for funded pensions.<\/a><\/p>\n
