As of early July 2025, it is reported that 268 Ukrainian prisoners of war have been executed by Russian forces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubynets, during a press conference.<\/p>\n

Lubinets noted that, according to available data, as of 2 July, an investigation is underway into the execution of 268 Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian forces.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have seen this number increase dramatically over the past year,\u201d Lubynets said.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that such actions by the Russians cannot occur without systematic coordination of the executions of Ukrainian military personnel at the highest levels of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that this attitude towards Ukrainian prisoners of war is accepted at the very top, so to speak. Unfortunately, we are witnessing this in reality,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Earlier, law enforcement officers launched an investigation into the shooting of two prisoners of war by Russians in the Pokrovsk direction in May 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n
