On the night of July 4, Russia carried out one of its most powerful attacks in recent times, launching over 550 air targets at Ukraine. The main target of the strike was Kyiv. Ukrainian air defenses were able to destroy 478 of them, including Iskander-K cruise missiles and hundreds of Shahed kamikaze drones.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

What exactly did Russia launch:<\/strong>
539 Shahed strike UAVs and simulated drones (from the directions of Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk);<\/p>\n

1 aeroballistic missile Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” (from Lipetsk region);<\/p>\n

6 Iskander-M\/KN-23 ballistic missiles (Bryansk region);<\/p>\n

4 Iskander-K cruise missiles (Kursk and Voronezh regions).<\/p>\n

Results of the countermeasure:<\/strong>
478 air targets were neutralized;<\/p>\n

270 \u2014 destroyed by fire;<\/p>\n

208 \u2014 neutralized by electronic warfare (EW) means.<\/p>\n

In particular, 268 Shahed drones were destroyed, another 208 were suppressed or lost from locations.<\/p>\n

Two Iskander-K cruise missiles were shot down.<\/p>\n

The Air Force notes that aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare, mobile fire groups, and UAV units were involved in countering the attack.<\/p>\n

Consequences<\/strong>
The attack resulted in hits at 8 locations (9 missiles and 63 drones), and debris from downed targets fell at 33 locations across the country. Details of the damage and possible casualties are being determined.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of Friday, July 3, the Russian army carried out another massive air attack on Kyiv.<\/a> First, kamikaze drones were launched over the city, then missiles. The consequences of the shelling were serious: significant destruction, numerous fires, and civilian casualties were recorded.<\/p>\n

As reported, as of the morning of July 4, Russia had lost about 1,024,210 soldiers since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the course of the day, the enemy’s losses in manpower reached 1,120 people.<\/a><\/p>\n
