On Friday, July 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump held a phone call against the backdrop of a pause in American military aid deliveries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Axios journalist Barak Ravid<\/a>, the conversation between Zelenskyy and Trump lasted approximately 40 minutes and was described as \u201cpositive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy stated<\/a> that they discussed ongoing Russian attacks and the situation on the front lines. The leaders also focused on strengthening Ukraine\u2019s air defense and agreed to cooperate on enhancing the country\u2019s protection from aerial threats.<\/p>\n

During the conversation, the presidents also discussed the capabilities of the defense industry and prospects for joint production. Ukraine expressed readiness to undertake joint projects with the United States, emphasizing the necessity of such cooperation for security, particularly in the field of drones and related technologies.<\/p>\n

Mutual purchases and investments were also addressed. The leaders exchanged views on the diplomatic situation and continued coordination with international partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe in Ukraine are grateful for all the support provided, which enables us to protect lives and our independence. We have accomplished much together with America and fully support all efforts aimed at ending the killings and restoring a normal, stable, and dignified peace,\u201d President Zelenskyy stressed.<\/p>\n

Earlier, U.S. authorities suspended the delivery of another weapons package to Ukraine, citing concerns about the depletion of their arsenals. However, an analysis by the Pentagon\u2019s Joint Chiefs of Staff indicated that assisting Ukraine does not compromise the defense capabilities of the U.S. Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the German government plans to finalize an agreement with the United States to supply Ukraine with new air defense systems and interceptor missiles.<\/p>\n

It is worth recalling that on the night of July 4, Russia launched one of the most intense air attacks in recent times, deploying over 550 air targets against Ukraine. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 478 of these, including Iskander-K cruise missiles and hundreds of Shahed kamikaze drones.<\/p>\n
