At the start of a full-scale war in 2022, Ukraine asked Poland for MiG-29 fighters, but this was prevented by the US position.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, as reported by<\/a> Polish Radio for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

According to him, the request for the MiG was constantly heard during conversations with Volodymyr Zelensky, and Poland asked its allies whether it was possible to transfer the aircraft as a NATO member country, but the US imposed a blockade.<\/p>\n

Duda added that the Ukrainian side expressed dissatisfaction because the US did not publicize the ban, which created the impression that Poland did not want to hand over the planes.<\/p>\n

The transfer of tanks and other heavy vehicles was also blocked, but in the end Poland was the first to transfer heavy weapons to Ukraine, the Polish leader emphasized.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that the United States of America temporarily stopped deliveries of some anti-aircraft missiles and high-precision munitions to Ukraine<\/a> due to concerns about the level of its own defense reserves.<\/p>\n

As reported, after the news about the suspension of deliveries of part of the military aid to Ukraine, the Pentagon assures that Washington continues to work on solutions.<\/a><\/p>\n
