In Ukraine, there is a threat of authoritarianism and the practice of eliminating political opponents of the government, writes<\/a> the British publication The Economist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All this is happening against the backdrop of a crisis in relations with the US administration and an aggravation of the situation on the front.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is growing concern about signs of authoritarianism \u2014 for example, the use of presidential power to remove opponents from public life. \u201cThe Russians are slowly roasting us,\u201d one senior official says with despair, \u201cand here we are playing idiocy with very serious consequences,\u201d writes The Economist.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRough court politics are neither news nor a surprise for a country that has been at war for three and a half years. It would be strange if the weary leadership did not centralize decision-making. But the scale of the threats facing Ukraine and the increasingly worsening strategic situation make the concentration of power in a narrow circle dangerous. One solution could be openness. But there is nothing to indicate this. The danger for Ukraine is that the country risks sliding into a deep political crisis and strategic confusion,\u201d the publication notes in the article \u201cPolitical struggle in Ukraine intensifies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
