Senator Lindsey Graham\u2019s Bill to Tighten Sanctions on Russia Set for Submission to Congress July 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a very important bill that will send a powerful signal to Putin that diplomacy cannot go hand in hand with killing,\u201d Gingrich wrote.<\/p>\n

He added that the American people will only tolerate the lies of a “murderous dictator” for so long.<\/p>\n

Gingrich emphasized that Senator Graham\u2019s bill \u2014 which imposes additional sanctions on Russia and its energy buyers \u2014 is a smart and timely next step to increase pressure on Putin and push him toward agreeing to a ceasefire in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the US Senate has postponed the introduction of tougher sanctions against Russia until at least July<\/a>. The reason for the delay is the conflict between Iran and Israel.<\/p>\n

As reported, US President Donald Trump said at the G7 summit in Alberta, Canada, that he would not rush to impose new sanctions against Russia. The main reason is the high economic costs for the United States.<\/a><\/p>\n
