US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the recent suspension of arms supplies to Ukraine a “short-term pause” for the arms recount.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He stated<\/a> this to reporters after a meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister, Reuters reports.<\/p>\n

According to Rubio, some of the defensive weapons were recently deployed during Iran’s attack on Israel, so there was a pause in counting the number of such weapons in the United States.<\/p>\n

“This was not a suspension of aid, as it was presented. This is a standard pause to assess our stockpiles. We need to be sure that we have enough weapons to meet all global commitments,” he noted.<\/p>\n

Rubio also added that, in general, aid to Ukraine is continuing according to the schedule approved by the US Congress.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that the US has decided to resume military assistance to Ukraine<\/a> , in particular, to provide a new batch of defensive weapons.<\/p>\n

Recall that US President Donald Trump probably promised Volodymyr Zelensky to provide Patriot missiles to strengthen Ukrainian air defense.<\/a><\/p>\n

By the way, the Kremlin stated that Donald Trump’s decision to resume arms supplies to Ukraine does not contribute to attempts at a peaceful settlement.<\/a><\/p>\n
