Russian forces continue daily attacks on the border areas of Sumy region, using a wide arsenal of weapons, including drones, artillery, guided aerial bombs, and infantry assaults.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon.<\/p>\n

According to him, virtually the entire 550-kilometer section of the Ukrainian-Russian border in the region is under attack.<\/p>\n

“The intensity of attacks has increased since the beginning of the year. The enemy is actively using FPV drones, drones with explosive charges, as well as fiber-optic drones. The use of CABs, artillery, and air strikes continues,” Demchenko said.<\/p>\n

A separate threat is posed by enemy activity in the areas of Khotyn and Yunakiv communities. There, Russian troops are trying to storm positions with small groups of infantry. However, according to the spokesman, Ukrainian forces are controlling the situation, inflicting regular fire damage and preventing the enemy from advancing.<\/p>\n

“The enemy is unable to advance. Ukrainian forces are working effectively, regularly destroying enemy infantry,” the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine noted.<\/p>\n

Although Russia’s activity in this direction is increasing, there are currently no signs of amassing equipment or preparing for a full-scale offensive. Demchenko suggested that the Russians either do not have enough equipment or are deliberately refraining from using it, aware of the risks.<\/p>\n

“Perhaps it either does not have enough equipment, or is saving it for some further actions. Or the enemy understands perfectly well that the appearance of columns of equipment in the direction of our border is in fact its immediate destruction,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n

We remind you that Russian troops are purposefully attacking energy and gas infrastructure facilities in the Sumy region<\/a> , depriving residents of the necessary living conditions.<\/p>\n

As reported, a People’s Deputy from the European Solidarity faction stated that out of the total amount of UAH 40 billion for the construction of fortifications, criminal proceedings have been opened for half of this amount – UAH 20 billion.<\/a><\/p>\n
