A large-scale “Clean Sky” project is being implemented in Kyiv, aimed at protecting the city’s airspace from Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles using Ukrainian interceptor drones.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko.<\/p>\n

The initiative is funded with UAH 260 million. The funds will be used to create an effective response system, including the deployment of training centers for drone interceptor operators, as well as the formation of additional mobile units that will be on duty in the capital and on the outskirts of it.<\/p>\n

“We are working in close coordination with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Air Force to achieve synergy with air defense systems,” said Tkachenko.<\/p>\n

According to him, in the few months since the pilot launch of the “Clear Sky” project, about 550 enemy drones were intercepted.<\/p>\n

“In addition, we are working on attracting extrabudgetary funds. This is an investment in the security of every Kyiv resident. While the enemy is attacking, we are strengthening defense. The sky over Kyiv will be clear,” added the head of the KMVA.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, in June, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine launched a pilot project to create air defense groups (ADF) based on volunteer formations of territorial communities.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, in Ukraine , volunteers were allowed to shoot down enemy drones<\/a> . The Cabinet of Ministers approved the corresponding proposal of the Ministry of Defense.<\/p>\n
