Donald Trump’s administration has been seriously discussing the scenario of transferring long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine \u2014 the same weapons that the US recently used against Iranian targets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> journalist David Ignatius in a column for The Washington Post, citing his own sources in Washington.<\/p>\n

As noted, discussions regarding the possible supply of these missiles were ongoing as recently as last Friday. If they were transferred, Ukraine could potentially strike strategic targets in Russia \u2014 particularly deep inside the country, including Moscow or St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n

However, according to the journalist’s senior interlocutors, at this stage the Tomahawks are not included in the approved aid package. Ignatius adds: “They could be put back on the agenda later – as an element of pressure if Trump decides to strengthen his position.”<\/p>\n
