In Ukraine, since the beginning of summer, there has been a significant increase in the price of meat: pork neck has already crossed the mark of 330 UAH per kilogram. Experts predict that the cost of meat products will continue to grow due to the shortage of raw materials, seasonal demand and increased production costs. At the same time, some retailers are reassuring: prices may stabilize by the fall, if there are no new economic shocks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is noted that the summer of 2025 in Ukraine was marked by a sharp jump in meat prices. In particular, pork neck in June rose in price by more than 20% and exceeded the mark of 330 hryvnias per kilogram. According to the analyst of the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB) Maksym Hopka, the trend will continue until the end of the summer – it is expected that prices will fluctuate within 320\u2013350 hryvnias\/kg.<\/p>\n

Among the key factors driving the price increase, experts cite a shortage of live weight, consistently high demand for meat in the summer, when active harvesting occurs and consumer purchases increase, as well as a seasonal increase in production costs.<\/p>\n

Beef is also not lagging behind – in June its average price reached 336 UAH\/kg, which is 22% more expensive than last year. Experts predict that by August the cost of this type of meat may increase by another 5\u20137% due to limited supply and seasonal costs of keeping cattle.<\/p>\n

Chicken meat will also face price increases. A slight increase in the cost of fillets, thighs, and carcasses is expected. The main reason is the increase in feed prices, which directly affects the cost of poultry products.<\/p>\n

However, not all analysts share the pessimism. The press service of the EKO-Market retail chain is convinced that unless unforeseen events occur \u2014 such as a rapid fall in the hryvnia, an energy crisis, a grain crop failure, or changes in the tax system \u2014 meat prices will remain relatively stable until the end of autumn.<\/p>\n

Thus, Ukrainians should prepare for meat prices to remain high at least until the beginning of autumn, and in some segments, for further increases. The greatest risks concern pork and beef, while chicken remains a relatively more affordable alternative.<\/p>\n

Recall that the State Statistics Service reported that over the year the prices of all basic products in Ukraine have increased significantly<\/a> : in June 2025, inflation for consumer products reached 23.2%, while the overall consumer price index was only 14.3%. The highest jump was recorded for apples (+195.5%) and cabbage (+150.3%), which indicates an unprecedented overheating of the food market.<\/p>\n
