Hungary has banned three Ukrainian Armed Forces officers from entering its territory due to the death of a Hungarian in Transcarpathia who had dual citizenship.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> in the Telex publication, citing a statement by Hungarian Foreign Minister P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3.<\/p>\n

He did not name the Ukrainian military personnel, but said that they hold the positions of head of the personnel department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, regional commander, and officer of the Ministry of Defense responsible for mobilization.<\/p>\n

Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 also recalled that the Hungarian government had requested the EU to include three Ukrainian military personnel on the sanctions lists.<\/p>\n

“Pending the imposition of sanctions, we have taken measures today to ban all three individuals from entering the territory of Hungary,” the Hungarian minister said.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expressed indignation at the statements of its Hungarian colleagues.<\/p>\n

“Hungary’s decision to ban three Ukrainian military officials from entering its territory is unfounded and absurd. We reject Hungary’s manipulations and will not tolerate such disrespect for our military,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.<\/p>\n

He also added that Ukraine reserves the right to take appropriate measures in response.<\/p>\n

Recall that on Wednesday, July 16, Hungarian Foreign Minister P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 called on the European Union to impose sanctions against three officials in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Earlier it became known that the Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine, Antal Heizer, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry in connection with “unfriendly statements from Budapest.”<\/a><\/p>\n
