Donald Trump’s administration will impose secondary sanctions and tariffs against Russia if a ceasefire is not achieved in Ukraine within 50 days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt during a briefing.<\/p>\n

“If there is no ceasefire or peace agreement in Ukraine within 50 days, Russia will face very high tariffs and secondary sanctions,” Levitt emphasized.<\/p>\n

She also added that sanctions would be imposed on countries that buy oil from Moscow. Levitt said such actions would cause “severe damage to the Russian economy.”<\/p>\n

“And I want to add that the president wants the war to end with a diplomatic resolution. He insists on that. His administration has spent many hours and a lot of time trying to resolve this war,” the White House spokeswoman added.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Donald Trump’s administration is considering the possibility of introducing new sanctions that could affect not only Russia, but also countries that maintain economic ties with it<\/a> .<\/p>\n

As reported, EU countries have made significant progress in agreeing on the 18th package of sanctions against Russia. The new sanctions include a reduction in the ceiling price for Russian oil.<\/a><\/p>\n
