Russia’s coal industry is in crisis due to the loss of the European market and falling world prices. A third of enterprises are on the verge of closure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“More than fifty coal enterprises are already under threat of closure. In total, 179 coal mining enterprises (52 mines and 127 sections) were operating in Russia as of the beginning of 2024. The industry’s total losses for January-May have already reached $1.44 billion, and are projected to be approximately $4 billion by the end of the year,” the SZR noted.<\/p>\n
