This trend indicates a deep crisis in the aggressor state’s economy.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

As the CPC notes, citing a report by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the share of companies preparing for layoffs almost doubled in the first half of 2025 alone. This is an alarming signal about the loss of resilience of Russian business in the face of growing pressure from sanctions and economic isolation.

The strongest decline is observed in sectors such as mining, engineering, and pharmaceuticals — key industries that were previously considered relatively stable even in wartime.

At the same time, the number of companies planning to raise salaries has sharply decreased. Employees are increasingly being transferred to a shortened workweek or forced to go on vacation. Such practices, as analysts emphasize, are becoming the new norm in the Russian realities of 2025.

“These trends are further proof that the economy of the aggressor state cannot withstand the strain of a full-scale war against Ukraine, international isolation, and the Kremlin’s failed management decisions,” the Center for Countering Disinformation said.

Despite the loud rhetoric from Russian TV channels, which report daily about “economic stability”, the actual indicators say the opposite: systemic socio-economic instability is growing within the country, which is becoming increasingly difficult to hide.

As a reminder, investment banker Sergei Fursa said that Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin does not plan to stop the aggressive war, despite the difficult situation in the economy. At the same time, Russians are actively using the printing press and emptying the reserves of the National Welfare Fund, but these resources will not last long.

As reported, Russia is experiencing an acute labor shortage in many sectors of the economy.

In addition, the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, stated that Russia has exhausted the resources that allowed the economy to demonstrate growth for two consecutive years in conditions of war and sanctions.

By the way, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (FISS) reports that Russian companies are massively losing their assets abroad amid international sanctions, nationalization, and the breakdown of cooperation with foreign partners.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram.

The number of companies in Russia that plan to reduce their workforce is rapidly increasing.
