Washington is actively negotiating with a number of foreign countries regarding the possible supply of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> “Sospilne”, citing a source in the US government.<\/p>\n

According to the senior official, these are separate bilateral agreements that could be concluded between the countries and the United States. It is specified that the negotiations are at an early stage, and there are no clear deadlines or commitments yet.<\/p>\n

“These will be separate agreements with individual countries,” the journalists’ interlocutor emphasized.<\/p>\n

It is not yet known how many countries are participating in the negotiations. It is also unknown which complexes can be transferred and when.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the talks is to gather resources and assess which partners can provide Patriot systems to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. Against the backdrop of regular Russian missile attacks, this issue remains one of the key ones for the defense of Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Regarding Donald Trump’s previously announced initiative to possibly transfer 17 Patriot systems to Ukraine, the US Department of Defense and the State Department redirected journalists to the White House.<\/p>\n

Recall, the Permanent Representative of the United States to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, stated that Washington is considering the possibility of transferring Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems from US Army warehouses to Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, Berlin confirmed its readiness to help Ukraine strengthen its air defense. During a meeting in the Ramstein format, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that his country, together with the United States, will participate in the supply of five additional Patriot systems<\/a> . The agreements were reached last week in Washington with Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth.<\/p>\n

In addition, Germany and the United States are close to concluding an agreement to transfer additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. New details of the negotiations indicate that Berlin is ready to provide two more systems from its reserves, and Washington is ready to compensate them with supplies from industrial stocks<\/a> . An announcement of the agreement is expected this week.<\/p>\n

By the way, the Netherlands has declared its readiness to make a significant contribution to the supply of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine<\/a> . The country’s Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans emphasized that Russia is trying to break the Ukrainian nation through massive air attacks, but international partners will not allow this plan to be implemented.<\/p>\n
