Following the meeting, the preparation of a unified action plan was announced, which aims to strengthen state institutions and respond to society’s demand for justice.

The head of state announced this on his Telegram channel.

According to the president, the meeting was attended by all key officials — heads of anti-corruption structures, law enforcement agencies, and Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

“This was an important, frank and meaningful conversation. We all understand that protecting Ukraine requires a strong and effective justice system. The only enemy is the Russian occupiers, and the strength of the state should be felt through the work of its institutions,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President emphasized that criminal proceedings should not drag on for years, and individuals who act against the interests of the country should not remain unpunished or feel unsafe.

“We all see and hear what society expects – it wants justice, transparency, and effectiveness. At the meeting, we discussed specific steps: legislative, administrative, and those related to coordination between agencies,” he added.

Another meeting is scheduled for next week, during which work on a joint plan will continue. According to previous agreements, a single document aimed at strengthening the state and responding to citizens’ requests should be formed within two weeks.

As a reminder, on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada voted for a bill that significantly limits the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) , effectively subordinating their activities to the Prosecutor General.

Subsequently, the heads of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office appealed to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy not to sign the bill , which, in their opinion, destroys the independence of these bodies.

However, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a high-profile law that significantly changes the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP), strengthening control by the Prosecutor General.

As reported, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have published an official statement regarding draft law No. 12414, which is being prepared for the second reading in the Verkhovna Rada. The anti-corruption bodies warn that the latest amendments to the document pose a serious threat to the independence of their activities.

In addition, mass protests were held in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Odessa, Lutsk, and Ivano-Frankivsk against draft law No. 12414, which activists say threatens the independence of the anti-corruption institutions NABU and SAPO. Protesters are demanding that the president immediately veto the document, which could significantly change the balance of Ukraine’s anti-corruption system.

By the way, the Verkhovna Rada plans to prepare a submission to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to repeal Law No. 12414, which limits the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP).

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the heads of law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies against the backdrop of public outcry caused by the adoption of Law No. 12414.
