The U.S. State Department has approved two new military assistance packages for Ukraine. One is for HAWK air defense systems and the other is for the rehabilitation of Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. The total value of both packages exceeds $320 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Pentagon.<\/p>\n

What’s included in the first package<\/strong><\/p>\n

The $172 million package covers maintenance of US HAWK Phase III air defense systems, including:<\/p>\n

– trucks with a carrying capacity of 5 tons<\/p>\n

– spare parts for HAWK air defense systems<\/p>\n

– repair and overhaul of launchers<\/p>\n

– storage containers<\/p>\n

– tool kits and test equipment<\/p>\n

– auxiliary logistics elements<\/p>\n

– technical documentation<\/p>\n

– training of Ukrainian specialists<\/p>\n

– technical support from the US government and contractors<\/p>\n

– maintenance of MIM-23 HAWK missiles<\/p>\n

Another $150 million is earmarked for Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, as well as technical assistance, training services, and software support to bring vehicles already in service back to combat readiness.<\/p>\n

The decision to transfer the aid was made under the Intergovernmental Sales (FMS) program. Final approval must be given by the US Congress.<\/p>\n

These supplies are aimed at strengthening Ukrainian air defense and restoring armored vehicles, which play a key role on the front line.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the United States of America has resumed supplies of 155 mm artillery shells and GMLRS precision-guided rockets to Ukraine,<\/a> which were suspended the day before.<\/p>\n

As reported, the US has decided to resume military assistance to Ukraine, in particular, to provide a new batch of defensive weapons.<\/a><\/p>\n
