In the first half of 2025, 805 new funeral companies were registered in Russia – 16% more than in the same period last year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by the Kommersant publication with reference to data from the Kontur.Focus service.<\/p>\n

The largest increase was recorded in the Moscow region – 57 new offices were opened, which is a third more than a year earlier. In the Krasnodar region, 42 new funeral companies appeared, which is 22% more than last year.<\/p>\n

According to the results of January-April 2025, the volume of the funeral services market in the Russian Federation increased by 12.7% – to 39.5 billion rubles, according to Rosstat.<\/p>\n

Industry representatives explain the dynamics not only by the increase in mortality, but also by the increased margin of the business. According to them, the demand for turnkey services, long-distance transportation of bodies, cremation and memorial goods is growing. At the same time, some clients ask to limit themselves to the basic package with state compensation.<\/p>\n

Recall that since July, Russia has stopped publishing population figures, the number of births, deaths, marriages, and divorces, so as not to draw attention to the demographic crisis.<\/a><\/p>\n
