Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he plans to hold phone conversations with US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin this week with the aim of organizing a meeting to resolve the situation in Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the Turkish publication Hurriyet<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Erdogan recalled that this week negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations had already taken place in the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul, and that the Ukrainian side had previously met with him personally in Ankara.<\/p>\n

The Turkish president said that during a preliminary telephone conversation with Putin, he called on the Kremlin to “support efforts” to find a peaceful solution.<\/p>\n

“We may talk to Putin and Trump again this week to try to bring these leaders together in Istanbul,” Erdogan said.<\/p>\n

He did not specify whether he had received preliminary consent from both sides, but stressed that T\u00fcrkiye was ready to provide a platform for dialogue.<\/p>\n
