Alexander Lukashenko is once again resorting to the tactic of using illegal migrants as an instrument of geopolitical pressure on the countries of the European Union.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Foreign Intelligence Service reported<\/a> this.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The Belarusian regime organizes the transit of migrants from Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan through its territory with subsequent direction to EU countries, primarily Poland.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Ukrainian intelligence, migrant flows are partly coming from Libya, both directly and through Russian territory. This indicates coordination between Minsk and Moscow. This scenario is reminiscent of the 2021 crisis, when the Belarusian regime artificially created tension on European borders in an attempt to ease sanctions.<\/p>\n

However, as noted by the SZRU, attempts at blackmail did not bring the desired result: restrictions against the Lukashenko regime only increased, and diplomatic isolation worsened.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Despite his complete dependence on the Kremlin, Lukashenko is acting cautiously. He avoids overt escalation, trying to maintain minimal political contacts with individual European countries, including Hungary, which traditionally opposes migration.<\/p>\n

Earlier it became known that the EU introduced new duties on agricultural products and fertilizers from Russia and Belarus<\/a> . <\/p>\n
