On the night of Tuesday, July 29, the city of Salsk in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation was attacked by drones. The attack caused a fire in a freight train and disrupted train schedules. Some trains were damaged.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As noted, at 02:00 a.m., debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle damaged the contact network at the station. A fire broke out in the cargo warehouse, and a fire engine was sent to the scene to put it out. <\/p>\n

Russian Railways also reported that the impact damaged windows in two carriages of passenger train No. 59, which was running on the Novokuznetsk – Kislovodsk route. Passengers were evacuated, and no injuries were reported. <\/p>\n

The head of the Salsk district, Volodymyr Berezovsky, clarified that the blast wave damaged two tanks and a locomotive. In addition, information about the alleged evacuation of Salsk residents spread on social networks, but local authorities called these reports false.<\/p>\n

Train traffic status<\/strong>
Due to the events at the station, Russian Railways temporarily stopped traffic through Salsk. As of the morning of July 29, the Federal Passenger Company reported the delay of nine trains. Subsequently, according to information from the Telegram channel of Russian Railways, traffic was partially restored using a bypass scheme.<\/p>\n

“Work is underway to restore the damaged contact network. All possible measures are being taken to reduce delays in the movement of passenger trains,” the official statement says.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of July 26 , drones of the Security Service of Ukraine struck the city of Stavropol in the Krasnodar Territory of Russia.<\/a> The target of the attack was the Signal radio plant.<\/p>\n

As reported, a massive drone attack was recorded in Russia on the night of Friday, July 25. The drones attacked several regions, including the Rostov Region and the Stavropol Territory, where a chemical plant was hit.<\/a><\/p>\n
