China, a key partner of Russia, is reducing imports of Russian coal. It has effectively refused to support the Russian industry, which is in deep crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Center for Countering Disinformation.<\/p>\n

It is noted that in the first half of 2025, coal purchases from the Russian Federation to China fell by a quarter, and in the second quarter – by 34%.<\/p>\n

“The situation is critical, because China previously accounted for 50% of all coal exports from the Russian Federation. Even this market is shrinking. Despite the Kremlin’s bet on a “pivot to the East”, it is obvious: the most important partners do not need Russian coal,” the Central Energy Commission said.<\/p>\n

The decline in exports to China is accompanied by an increase in business costs due to expensive loans and logistical difficulties.<\/p>\n

Because of this, the Russian coal mining industry has found itself in a severe decline, which is officially recognized in the Russian Federation: the Russian Ministry of Energy has warned that 51 out of 179 enterprises are under threat of closure.<\/p>\n

“The Russian economy is paying a high price for armed aggression against Ukraine. Crisis trends in the coal industry only confirm the deep structural problems of the Russian economy, which are exacerbated in conditions of international isolation and war,” the Central Bank of Ukraine said.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Russian government announced a complete ban on gasoline exports for oil product companies until August 31, 2025<\/a> .<\/p>\n
