The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a major from an air brigade who was secretly working for Russian intelligence. He was gathering and transmitting classified data on flight schedules, aircraft positions, and airfield locations \u2014 including those where F-16s, Mirage 2000s, and Su-24s are stationed \u2014 to coordinate potential Russian strikes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated<\/a> in the department’s post.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the instructor major provided the enemy with coordinates of Ukrainian air bases, flight schedules, tail numbers, and information about aircraft armaments. He also compiled analytical reports for Russian forces, offering recommendations on how to strike airfields more effectively while bypassing Ukraine\u2019s air defense systems.<\/p>\n

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) apprehended the \u201cmole\u201d as he attempted to gather a new batch of classified information.<\/p>\n

The suspect has been charged with high treason \u2014 a grave crime against national security, punishable by life imprisonment and confiscation of property.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, in the ranks of the Defense Forces, the Security Service exposed a serviceman who worked for Russian special services and shared information about fellow soldiers with the enemy.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an FSB agent who served in the National Guard assault brigade.<\/a> The operation took place in Kharkiv with the assistance of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the NGU command.<\/p>\n
